What should I do if I have a problem with a home improvement project?

  1. First, try to resolve it with the contractor. Many disputes can be resolved at this level.

  2. Follow any phone conversations with a letter you send by certified mail. Request a return receipt, so you can prove that the company got your letter. 

  3. Keep notes and copies of letters and documents for your files.
